22 May 2009 - The '66 Chevy Impala has been sold. No, the guy that bought it isn't looking to sell it either. The weather is clearing up, and reminding me why I put up with about 9 months of rain and snow to live here. I spend summer and (very) early fall enjoying the hell out of the great riding here, and the rest of the grey, soggy year questioning my sanity for returning here, multiple times. Especially when riding 60+ miles to and from work when the temperature is in the 20's, or the rain is hammering down. So, if there are no updates for a while, no, I probably didn't die or abandon my domain name - I'm just out riding my ass off.

7 May 2009 - the weather has been really crappy, so I finally got around to cleaning up this site a bit, as well as re-working the Ben Dover Ministries site for all of you heathen bastards seeking quality salvation at affordable prices.

22 April 2009 - Survived the what is becoming yearly dash to Crescent City on the 17th, with gas stops at Aurora and Grants Pass in Oregon. The weather was looking so crappy those were the only planned stops, but ended up at Doyles Harley-Davidson in Eugene for around 3 1/2 hours getting the charging system replaced on Wayne's bike. It was so toasted that when the inspection cover was removed, smoke rolled out.

Sure did appreciate them getting the bike in right away, getting him back on the road so quickly, and doing it way cheaper than the dealers up here want for the same parts and labor. One of the local dealers cannot even replace a tire that quickly, even with an appointment made days in advance.

Spent the 18th and 19th riding back home up Highway 101. You just cannot beat the Oregon coast on a sunny day, and we had two of them.

13 April 2009 - Well, I'm back at this again. Spent the last several months hanging with my old club after hanging it up over 20 years ago, which pretty much took up what little free-time I had available, so among other things, I didn't get anything done on this site for ages. It was great seeing how much the club had changed and grown over the years, but it also showed me that I just cannot juggle work, family, and club anymore. Guess I just have to admit to myself that I'm getting old, and my priorities have changed.

It also seemed like I wasn't just riding for the fun of it as much anymore, so while I know I'll miss the club and regret having to walk away for what I know is the last time, I do enjoy cutting down on my obligations and getting back to some serious riding again. I re-discovered just how nice it is to just take off whenever, without a destination in mind.

The weather here is downright bizzare - snow one day, almost 80 degrees a day later, then cold, and pouring rain. Time to blast on down to Crescent City, California for some great Mexican food, and the discount liquor stores near the Oregon State line. Last year the rain followed me down, and it was clear and sunny here. Hopefully this year will be different.

Now that I have some time again, I'll do some more work on this when the weather is too crappy to ride again. Enjoy.
